Mardi Gras - St Anne Parade

In New Orleans, there is more than one way to experience Mardi Gras morning. For the locals in the Marigny and Bywater, their creativity is let loose at the St. Anne Parade.

The Society of St. Anne take over the streets on Mardi Gras morning in elaborate and out-there costumes. This walking krewe is mainly made up of DIY costumes and other home-made creations. The parade is not particularly organized and the route is sporadic, not defined but it’s easy to spot the crowd along the way by heading to neighborhood bars.
